Always remember.. everyone who "wakes up" was once asleep. Anyone who gets taught or learns possibly lacked something or was not very abundant in a certain area at one point in time.
This past Saturday morning I woke up but from a bad dream. I can't recall exactly what the dream was about (who does?) and before I had even gotten out of bed I was feeling really emotional. I literally woke up with tears going down my face and all I could think about was "my family deserves more". Let's keep it real Right now we're in the final stretch of things and my pregnant wife shouldn't have to work and be on her feet all day. I'm NEVER without my kids on weekends. I only had two things planned for the day, a training with Toastmasters for Vice President of Member Services and some library time to finalize the final stages of editing for my upcoming book You Are Your Outcome. Those two things would pretty much take up the whole day.
Let's fast forward to the 5 hour training session I'm a speaker, so I made it a point to be called on by raising my hand. At one point I was asked to stand up and walk up to the front. You see, I was so into the meeting that I hadn't been effected by the pain radiating from my back. Its nothing but tunnel vision. Even though I walked down the asile very slow and slightly hunched over. I was presented with the chance to describe my purpose in less than 30 seconds in front of everyone there.
What are you putting into your vehicle? When you discover your purpose, make it a point to always speak it into existence. Your purpose is nothing but a car that you need to put gas in. Regardless if your vehicle is shinny and new, beat up and tore down or if you aim to get to your destination by your own two feet.
What gets you to the destination is consistency PERIOD. Get as many reps as you can!
Those tears of pain will become tears of happiness. The only way my family can get more is if I do more.
As a result I've gained a new mentor, got to network and was actually recgonized by a few people from my previous speech competition. What's holding YOU back?
